Cherry Festival Ficksburg

Ficksburg is known as the “Cherry Capital of the World” and to celebrate this title the small town hosts an annual Cherry Festival. The first Festival took place in 1968, making this the longest running crop Festival in South Africa. The 2018 festival will be held from 15 to 17 November.

The Ficksburg Cherry Festival now attracts approximately 20 000 visitors to this quaint town each year and offers magnificent scenery along with a fun filled festival with something for both young and old. The festival has a number of events running alongside each other over its three days from sporting activities and kids’ activities to farm tours, tastings, workshops and an exhibition jam packed with goodies galore!

Mont Rouge guest house in Clarens, is only 85 km from the event and offers the guests affordable self catering accommodation. The chalets are well equipped and comfortable. There are also hiking trails and lots of other outdoor activities available for the adventurer.
