On our way to Afriski in Lesotho for the weekend, we chanced upon the Mont Rouge for an overnight stay in Clarens before crossing the border in the morning. The proprietor was decidedly welcoming and went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We were provided the Attic room that housed a double bed, a fireplace and two single beds with a small living room area setup in the open plan setting. An attached kitchen downstairs and a split shower and ablution facilities rounded out the stay nicely. The beds were well apportioned, allowing two of us to sleep comfortably on one of the single beds and we enjoyed a crackling fire with a good bottle of wine before turning in for a decidedly restful nights sleep. We'll definitely look back in on the Mont Rouge in the future.

My trip to Clarens was so amazing, the little town had so much to offer, we truly enjoyed out time out there.

The guest house Mt Rouge was so comfortable an offered us all the amenities that we needed to survive the cold nights, with underfloor heating and electric blankets we were cosy and snug. Thank you to the management of Mt Rouge for the friendly service and good advice on where we could get the best deals in town be it food or souvenirs. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and will definitely recommend Mt Rough Guest house to friends and family.

Once again thank you Riaan for making our stay at Mt Rouge and Clarins even more sweeter.

It's a wonderful place to visit perfect for a family trip close to town and very cosy and everything works properly amazing retreat. You can go on walks early in the morning and watch movies at night amazing for kids beds are comfy and if your lucky there might be a house in Clarens for sale

My sister and myself came to get away from the city for a few days..we were treated like queens and enjpyed the tranquil surroundings...thanks for ypur hospitality Riaan..we had the best time..we will be back soon....and bring our friends...

Had an excellent stay in the Lavender Room. They are hospitable, neat, clean and welcoming. Felt at home and close to all amenities. Would highly recommend for a getaway and would make use of them again.

Just had a lovely stay at Hakuna Matata cottage at Mt Rouge. A fully equipped kitchenette, romantic oval baths in the two en-suite bathrooms and a central fireplace inside, and an absolutely stunning view from the stoep outside all made for a memorable experience. Our host, Riaan, went out of his way to make us comfortable and happy. I can recommend this cottage without hesitation.

We have constantly finding ourselves returning to thus beautiful self catering venue! The views are spectacular and we always find that the onsite staff go the extra mile with assisting over the best places to visit, and general information of where to buy groceries, meat etc. Thank you again!!
